The reverse telecaster control plate wiring mod is a very simple mod to do on a standard Telecaster setup that totally changes the way you can use the pots while playing. Essentially, the volume pot moves to the front of the control plate to allow the play to volume swells. It involved flipping the whole control plate around so that the switch is at the back. You then need to flip the volume and tone controls around so that the volume is now at the front. Finally you need to flip the selector switch around so that the same bridge, middle and neck positions are available in the correct order.
If you’ve starting from scratch on a build or looking to mod your own Telecaster, we’ve supplied a wiring diagram for you. It is basically the same as a standard Telecaster setup, but the controls are in a new order.
